The MUST SEE (BEST) Acts at Adelaide Fringe 2019
Adelaide is currently absolutely overflowing with talent with the biggest Adelaide Fringe lineup yet – and this year with over 1200 acts, it’s hard to know who are the MUST SEE Acts of the Fringe. I’ve tried to make it easier for you with just ONE WEEK to go, with the below list of my MUST SEE/BEST ACTS of the Adelaide Fringe in 2019!
Below are just a few of my TOP Acts to see at the Adelaide Fringe in 2019! (There are many more – but only so much time!)
If you like: Laughing
Recommendation: Two of my favourite comedians Dane Simpson and Matt Ford in an absolutely hilarious show full of laughs and a heap of story telling.
THE CHOIR OF MAN
If you like: Beer and Feeling Good
Recommendation: I was so fortunate to be able to share a venue with these rowdy, fun and incredibly talented UK lads last year – it’s a show which will have you dancing and drinking away. The stage is an actual working pub, and if you’re lucky enough you will become part of the act itself and even get a beer on the house. You are guaranteed to leave this show with the biggest grin from ear to ear – the perfect show for a weekend out.
Anya Anastasia: The Show
If you like: Laughs from a Local
Recommendation: Anya is one of the best acts that’s ever hailed from Adelaide; and she’s now taking how show to a new level with even more comedy and laughs that ever before. It’s a must see.
Hans: Like A German
If you like: Accordion playing Germans
Recommendation: By the time you’re reading this, it may be too late to get tickets. The Americas Got Talent phenomenon who hails from Adelaide is having his biggest season yet – from all accounts its his best show yet too.
If you like: Good looking boys, doing good looking things.
Recommendation: The Elixir boys are back, with an entirely new show. Cowboys, shoot-outs, and sexiness; it’s not a show for the kids; but it’s a show you need to see.
If you like: Naughtyness.
Recommendation: From the creators of Papillon! comes this sexy, naughty and high energy show that will have any audience member excited. I’ve only heard incredibly positive things about Rouge, and it’s currently one of the top sellers across the whole festival so you may have to fight to find a ticket – the fight will be worth it though if you can manage to snag one.
Hand In Hand
If you like: Acrobatics, Circus and Dance.
Recommendation: Some incredible and local performers who put on an incredible show that explores the complexity of human relationships in a fun and colourful way. I’ve been honoured to get to know the Vertical Insanity Circus team this year; and the show is getting incredible reviews – support some local young talent.
If you like: Magic and Beers
Recommendation: Dom Chambers has had a huge year, with an appearance on Penn and Teller Fool Us! – and a heap more to come. This is a show with a lot of fun, original and hilarious magic.
Bernie Dieter’s Little Death Club
If you like: Things a little risque
Recommendation: It’s dark, funny, sexy – and at times a little inappropriate; but that’s what makes Little Death Club one of the best shows to check out this Fringe.
Come in with an open mind, and leave experiencing the most outrageous and fun show this Fringe.
If you like: Australia’s Best Hypnotist
Recommendation: Isaac Lomman is not only a local, he’s an incredible Hypnotist and Comedian and each year his shows get bigger and better. If you can, get a ticket to his shows at the Moa where you will see his shows on an even bigger and better scale than ever before.
Matt Tarrant: More UNSOLVED
If you like: Me? (Or Magic/Mentalism)
Recommendation: Pick of the Fringe Weekly Winner in 2019, Award Winning at every Adelaide Fringe since 2012; this is likely my last Adelaide Fringe show for a little while; and it’s my biggest and best yet. Five Star reviews all over the place, and packed houses every night; be quick.
That’s it for now – did I miss a show? Have you seen any of the above and LOVED it? Let me know below!
